BrevardPoly Yahoo Group Join Information

Thank you for your interest in joining BrevardPoly. We post all our meeting and social events to the BrevardPoly Yahoo Group, as well as allow members to have discussions about polyamory.

BrevardPoly is intended to be a REAL LIFE discussion/social group for those interested in polyamory who have a connection to Brevard County. In order to facilitate this, the BrevardPoly Yahoo Group is a closed group that you must request to join. Once you are a member, feel free to post a message to the group introducing yourself (but please, no personal ads - BrevardPoly is not a pick-up club.) For more information on our group, just click on the above links.

In order to protect the privacy and to ensure confidentiality of those attending our PolyCentral meetings, no audio/video or photographic equipment will be permitted. We want to make sure everyone understands that what is said at the meetings is personal, private and confidential. At the beginning of each meeting, we will ask everyone to verbally agree that what is said at the meetings stays at the meetings. By joining our announcement list and attending a meeting, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

What is Polyamory? The philosophy that you can openly and honestly love more than one person at a time. Ethical Non-Monogamy. This is not swinging or cheating. This is about open, honest and emotionally loving relationships that may or may not include sexual intimacy.

To Join BrevardPoly, please follow these instructions:

1. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/brevardpoly and click the "Join Now" button. This will send us a request that you want to join.

2. Please request to join with a Yahoo Profile that meets the following criteria:

a. Contains at least your Age and Location (general location is fine). You do need to be 18 or over to join. No Blank Profiles!

b. Does not contain any adult oriented graphics (no nudes or sexually explicit graphics). While only adults are allowed in the group, we are an in life social/discussion group. We are not a hook-up or sex group... and these sorts of graphics send the wrong impression about the group.

c. Please do not select "No E-mail" as your mail option. Any of the other options are fine. We periodically switch all "No E-mail" accounts to "Special Announcements". We ONLY send an initial announcement about upcoming events as "Special Announcements" - so this is very low volume. If you don't want to be told about meetings/events the group is having - then this probably isn't the group for you anyway.

3. After you click "Join", please put in the notes: Your general location and interest in polyamory. If you do not live in Brevard, please also include your connection to Brevard (ie. moving here soon, visit often, etc.)

Please be patient. BrevardPoly is a volunteer run organization, and it may take a day or two for someone to approve your membership.

For the media:

PolyCentral is strictly a discussion, social and support group and as such, does not have a designated spokesperson or media contact person. Any media requests for information on polyamory and the people living the lifestyle should be directed to Cherie Ve Ard, a Florida based media contact representative. She can answer media questions and put the media in contact with other individuals willing to conduct interviews about their lifestyle choices. Additionally, the media can contact Loving More for other media contacts at a national level.
